Update Audit Status - Keep Accountants/Administrators updated through BGL’s API

Simple Fund 360 now has an Audit Management screen which allows a BGL user to track an SMSF’s audit from start to finish. It lets you update the audit status and store all the necessary documents manually. BGL now provides a way for auditors using BGL’s API to update an audit’s status in Simple Fund 360, allowing Accountants/Administrators to keep track of the audit process seamlessly. An overview of how this process could work for you, is as follows:

1. The Accountant/Administrator (BGL User) notifies the auditor the fund is ready for audit.
2. As the audit progresses, your application uses the Update Audit Status endpoint so the BGL User is aware of each stage of the audit
3. Your application can upload any audit related documents to Simple Fund 360

1. Send to Audit

The first step is your application being notified that an audit is ready to begin. Please view the Sent to Audit guide, which contains all you need to know regarding receiving an audit message via webhook.

2. Update Audit Status

For each stage of the audit process, use the new endpoint Update Audit Status to update the Audit Status in Simple Fund 360. You will need to include the following:

• fundId
• financialYear
• auditStatus
• completionDate
• qualification (if audit complete)

This will allow BGL users to remain updated on the status of the audit without the extra communication step. Once the Audit is marked as Complete the Audit Date and Qualification details will be automatically inserted into the SMSF Annual Return in Simple Fund 360.

3. Upload Audit Documents

We have also added a new endpoint Upload Audit Document which allows you to upload any audit related document, such as Engagement Letter, Management Letter etc.
